About the role:

Mission Critical is seeking a Business Development Representative for Software Business Acquisitions to become an important contributor on the business acquisitions team. The focus of this role is to continue Mission success in building and nurturing long-term relationships with business founders and owners with the goal of acquiring their mission critical vertical software company. This position will play a key role engaging with and qualifying acquisition opportunities of vertical software companies.

As a Business Development Representative, you will report to the CEO. This role is full-time, with the opportunity to work remote and/or we can provide office space in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. Must be based in Los Angeles for in-person training.

What your responsibilities will be:

  • New Software Targets – Identify and engage with owners of software companies to build a lasting relationship. Call with purpose to qualify the target and use persistence and creativity to connect with prospects.
  • Qualification – Through meaningful conversations and research, screen suitability of prospects for high probability acquisition targets according to Mission Critical’s criteria for companies.
  • Database Management - Keep diligent notes and maintain a clean acquisition sales pipeline in Outreach (CRM used).
  • Nurturing - Responsible for creating lasting impressions with owners, utilizing depth of business acumen to carry on engaging conversations over multiple years. Build trust and high value relationships with owners by differentiating Mission Critical.
  • Winning - We are looking for A players. If you're a top rep, but have been bogged down by company politics, this is the home for you. You are ambitious, persistent and driven to hit your KPI numbers because you know it impacts the achievement of overall team goals.
  • KPIs - At least 30 calls per day as well as LinkedIn messages and emails to our already existing prospect database.

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to work more evening hours - as we’ll be calling into the Australian market workday, which starts around 2:30 PST. If you prefer to work later in the day, this job is for you.
  • 1+ years of building and maintaining B2B relationships (B2B sales or marketing, business development, deal sourcing)
  • Experience in an outbound sales environment (cold calling, email communication, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Outgoing, engaging and with strong communication skills. A good listener with the ability to have high-level, professional conversations with C-suite executives and business owners.
  • Enjoys the process of finding prospects' contact information.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on attitude with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Must have a never give up attitude and is not afraid of rejection.
  • Track record of strong results in a KPI driven environment.
  • Basic business / financial literacy, including understanding of concepts such as revenue generation, business and pricing models, profitability, and enterprise valuation.
